7 Things I Liked on the Indie World/Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase 8/26/24

Kevin

Well well well! Here we are with yet another Nintendo video showcase (and still no Silksong). So once again, here are the things I liked about the dual showcase (which didn’t have Silksong in it).

Balatro with Themed Collab Decks

Balatro, my favorite obsession is getting some collab DLC in the form of……themed decks. The Friends of Jimbo DLC features face cards of: The Witcher 3, Among Us, Dave the Diver and Vampire Survivors (my other favorite obsession, I have a long list of these tbh). The DLC update went live yesterday on all platforms

Sea of Stars DLC

The award winning turn-based RPG is getting some free DLC that will release in Spring 2025. If you haven’t had the chance to play the stellar adventures of Zale and Valare, I humbly request that you do. You are missing out on a treat. This maybe the forcible push with leg to my backside I need to finish this game, lol.

Date Everything

A dating sim where when they say you can date everything, you can date EVERTHING. Every inanimate object can be a smoking, hot humanoid figure. From couches to vacuums, you can fall in love with the dream object of your choice. I don’t normally go for dating sims but the weird and wacky nature of it has my attention.

Peglin

Oh yeah, I have had my eye on Peglin for a while ever since it was on PC Early Access. Think about Peggle with roguelite elements. You are tasked to help Peglin on an adventure as they get their treasure back. I am so hyped that is in 1.0 and I will dabbling with this as soon as I can.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2

While I’m not a big part of the fighting game community, I have played a bunch of Street Fighter back in the day so I have a soft spot for the games. Great to see a lot of the old games bundled together for new/lapsed fans to play again. Also Power Stone is back which that could have been a bundle to itself. Now if you will excuse me, I will be looking at affordable fighting sticks

Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster

Welp, it is happening. The bundle is finally getting a release date: March 6, 2025. I can’t wait. Suikoden 2 is on my Top 5 list of JRPGs and I can’t wait to play both this and the prequel for one price! My Steam Deck is about to be busy around March.

Yakuza Kiwami on Switch

The misadventures of Kiryu will be on the Switch on October 24, 2024. If you have been waiting to play Yakuza Kiwami on Switch, you are in luck.

And that’s that

That was just a tasting plate of all the cool stuff that I saw (and no Silksong) on the combo Indie World/Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. If you want to see the whole thing, you can watch it below.
