Looks like Musky Musk was serious about that bank thing

I'd rather the banks steal my money than Musk lose it.

By the end of 2024, you may be banking at the Bank of Twitter if Elon Musk has any say about it. During an all-hands call, he expressed to employees that he expects that these features should be implemented by then. He’s expecting that people will be surprised at “how powerful it is.”

When I say payments, I actually mean someone’s entire financial life. If it involves money. It’ll be on our platform. Money or securities or whatever. So, it’s not just like send $20 to my friend. I’m talking about, like, you won’t need a bank account.”

Elon Musk, according to audio of the meeting obtained by The Verge

In his quest to turn Twitter into the “everything app”, this is one of his stops to achieve that goal. For those who don’t know, X (as Twitter is supposed to be known as now) was once the name he wanted to give PayPal years ago.

I’ll just say, the way he’s run Twitter over this past year, I don’t have any confidence that this will be a successful venture. While Twitter may get this up and running by the end of 2024, I don’t think that it will be a place where everyday people would want to put their money. It’s too risky a prospect when they can’t even get Twitter to work like it was before October 26, 2022.
