in keeping with a very long standing tradition of being with my coverage. Here are my favorite Steam Next Fest demos of June 2025.
CloverPit
What if you combined claustrophobic horror with debt. Add a dash of a slot roguelike and you got CloverPit. Creepy themes aside, I really enjoyed my time with it. Had that delightful “One More Run” aspect. The roguelike genre is really expanding in new and interesting ways (coughs Balatro)
Discounty
A lovely combo of a retail sim and Twin Peaks. You are tasked in helping your Aunt’s store (titled Discounty) all the while running errands and making deals with the quirky townspeople. Wonderfully trippy. Had my eye on this one for a long time.
Tavern Keeper
Tavern Keeper has been on my radar for a while. A business management game set in a fantasy world. You serve your patrons, decorate, restock your grog and hire staff. I love the oblong, Rayman-esqe, puppet style of it. Voice acting and writing are on point.
Town To City
A beautiful pixel style city builder. A cozy combo of a warm blanket and municipal infrastructure.
Dispatch
From the creators of the Walking Dead, Dispatch takes the comically dark take on the superhero genre. You play as a former hero as they readjust to a normal life working for a dispatch company for heroes. You are responsible for sending your ragtag bunch of heroes to different assignments. Had me chuckling throughout the whole demo. Definitely one to watch for.
Moonlighter 2
Sequel to the 2018 game, your precious village is in ruins.You must use your combat skills to scourge up items and sell your wares to fund your runs to restore your home. One bauble at a time.
Sintopia
A delightful combo of Black and White 2, Populous and a splash of Factorio . If you can get past the hell themes, you will find one interesting gem of a game.
