Apple’s spatial computing powerhouse is now available for pre-order, starting at $3,499 for the base model. The base model comes with 256GB of storage which users can optionally upgrade to 512GB or 1TB ($3699 and $3899 respectively) at the time of purchase.
Additional items to consider are
- Prescription Lens Inserts – $149
- Reader Lens Inserts – $99
- AppleCare+ – $499
As with most Apple devices, users will not be able to upgrade the internal storage after the initial purchase.
Other than storage all models are identical and feature an Apple M2 8-core processor and 10-core GPU. The M2 is backed up by the new R1 processor which is designed specifically to process the input for the various sensors on featured on the Apple Vision Pro.
The pre-order process requires that users have an iPhone capable of scanning their face. The face scan is used to determine the correct size for the head band. Apple will ship both the Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band in the box.
If the user purchased the optional prescription lens inserts then they will have a short-period of time to upload a valid US prescription. This does affect the shipping time for the device as it will not ship until after two weeks after the prescription is validated by Apple’s lens partner, ZEISS.
Apple Vision Pro will be available in Apple Retail locations and begin shipping to customers starting February 2nd 2022.
