Another day, another set of layoffs. And look who’s behind this one. All those jokes I made about Embracer feel terrible now that I know what it was ultimately leading to.

Black Forest Games, a subsidiary of THQ Nordic, who is owned by The Embracer Group has announced that layoffs are coming. Black Forest Games is known for developing the Destroy All Humans! remakes. Black Forest is also making a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. This one is inspired by The Last Ronin line of comics.

Kotaku broke the news Thursday. Black Forest is having to say goodbye to 50% of their workforce which was at 110 employees last year. Speaking with sources familiar with the matter, Kotaku reports that while the managers are safe, the labor force is taking a hit.

The Embracer Group is a special case and not in a good way. How is it even legal for a company to buy up so many studios only to close them and put people out of work so quickly? I can’t even sell a house in less than two years without having to pay capital gains tax.

The way the Capitalist class is ruining the world, we aren’t going to have much left.
