Thanks to Microsoft’s fiscal year 2024 Q1 earnings call, we now have an idea of how well Bethesda’s latest game did for their parent company when it comes to Game Pass.

According to Microsoft, Starfield generated the largest single-day subscription spike in Game Pass’ existence.

They reported that the results highlighted growth in multiple areas with 13% increases in Xbox content and services. This was somewhat tempered by the fact that they weren’t able to move as many consoles which resulted in a 7% drop. Combined along with other factors, the Xbox brand is strong with 9% growth for Quarter 3.

Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, singled out Starfield when talking about Game Pass’ success saying it was responsible for the increase in subscribers.

…on [Starfield’s] launch, [Microsoft] set a record for the most Game Pass subscriptions added on a single day ever.”

And remember, not only did it increase Game Pass subscriptions, Starfield also so a bunch of copies.
