What started as a tweet that Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier made became the absolute hope for the internet. Many people started covering what looked to be a rumor that we would be getting Grand Theft Auto 6 news this week. That news would be followed with a trailer next month.

That then turned to confirmation this morning when Sam Houser confirmed that we will see the “next Grand Theft Auto” trailer in early December. This happens to line up with the 25th anniversary of the GTA series.

Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games. We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.”

Some people have even pointed out that the timing of the trailer release lines up with The Game Awards. Geoff Keighley hasn’t said anything about it, but that doesn’t really mean much. It’s not like Kojima’s making it.

It has been over 10 years since the last Grand Theft Auto game, GTA V, has been released. It may not seem like that because the game has been Skyrim’ed. That is to say that it’s been ported to every platform that has come out since then. They also keep a healthy online community. Not to mention, they have put out Red Dead Redemption 2 and re-released Red Dead Redemption, and released the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. That contains GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas.

Where do you think GTA 6 will take us? Back to Liberty City. How about Vice City? We haven’t really been there in a while.
