Thanks to folks over at Insomniac Games, the Morales’ are now sporting the correct flag in their apartment.
Last week, when the game launched, many people had noticed that the flag hung up in the apartment was not Puerto Rican, where Rio Morales, Miles’ mom, is from. In fact, it was the Cuban flag.
Personally, I wouldn’t have blamed people for not noticing. I probably would have thought that to have been the correct one. While the shapes are all correct, the colors of the shapes were off. The red and blue are inverted between the two countries.
Along with the update, Insomniac also apologized for the oversight:
Today’s patch corrects an error where the Cuban flag was incorrectly displayed instead of the Puerto Rican flag. We understand that accurate representation matters, and greatly regret this error. We sincerely apologize and will do better in the future.”
Here are all the updates that also came down with the patch:
General Fixes & Polish:
- Addressed an issue where an incorrect flag was displayed
- Addressed an issue where models would not load properly after long play sessions
- Addressed an issue where The Amazing 2 Suit’s Spider logo appeared too bright
- Improved stability
This was just a small blemish on what I’ve heard to be an amazing game. That is both anecdotally and sales-wise. Spider-Man 2 has sold 2.5 million copies in its first 24 hours. Both Spideys are living their best lives.
