Now, it may be because I was out of town when the Xbox news dropped, but it seems like all the stuff Sony has said over the past couple of weeks would have rang some alarms. Sony said it isn’t releasing any first party sequels, which isn’t really bad news. It also said the PS5 was on the latter stage of its life cycle. But the latest news, while good for PC gamers doesn’t sound great for those on PS5.
Today, Sony announced some new games that were coming to the PS VR2 platform. It includes games like Wanderer, Little Cities: Bigger!, Zombie Army VR, and more.
But, if you skipped over the copy and went straight for the game announcements, you’d have missed a small little tidbit of news included in the blog post.
Also, we’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5. We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.”

That’s right! Soon, there will be one more headset to join the PC VR market. While its still in its testing phase right now, it would be nice to have what looks to be an inexpensive headset to join the PC ranks. While the Meta Quest 2 and 3 are cheaper and are standalone headsets, it’s nice to know that for about $50 more (than the 128 GB model of Quest 3), you can pretty good dedicated PC headset.
Hopefully, it’ll come with all the tech that PS VR2 utilizes on the PS5 like foveated rendering to help with performance.
